Confidence is a printed book that resulted from a one-year residency at the visual art studios in Evry. In collaboration with graphist artist Nicolas Millot, we chose to develop a hybrid documentary object composed of images/fragments to retrace the journey of this creative year dedicated to engraving in the digital age.

A “non-catalogue”

Each print, through its page order and colorimetry, offers a unique experience. Images were processed through offset printing. Liquid paint was applied directly onto the rollers of the machines. Like a bug in the matrix, this experiment in printing generates original color processing, despite the repetition. Bound by a simple rubber band, the object also invites you to recompose the order of its pages.

Confidence

More than a catalogue, this printed object can be seen as a developing multiple in the Internet age, the hypothesis of repetition and the original, leading to reflection on the fabrication process of a book.

Technical information :
Ink is applied directly onto inking rollers (ink is accumulated in the inkwell)
Inking is done on the offset plate (attached to the cylinder) -> transfer to blanket -> transfer to paper ;-)

crage se fait sur la plaque offset (attaché au cylindre porte-plaque) -> transfert sur le blanchet -> transfert sur le papier. ;-)
